I will be traveling to another state to hang out with my friends soon. I am not bringing my ps4 or my version of the game because they play it as well. My question is, if I log into my PSN account on her PS4 and go to play my character with my log in, would I be fine being able to play using her stuff when my version of Stormblood is collector's edition and hers is not? Or do I need to bring my disk to be able to play?
You will be fine. The version is tied to your account, when you log in to your account it will see the CE version reguistration and you will have all your items.
The only thing importend is if you have registered CE to your account. If you have it registered you can use all CE things everywhere you can play on your account.
don't forget to save your FF XIV save files on a USB stick for skillbar settings and UI settings.
