Running from Disk or Digital

I recently had to reinstall my base game on my PS4. To speed things up (because my internet connection isn't too good), I used the disk. However, that now means I need my disk in when I'm running the game.

Is there any way of changing the launcher only to digital without having to reinstall the whole game (which takes over 30 hours just for the Stormblood download)?

From recent experience I can tell you there is not. You need to redownload the entire digital game / update.
