Point Allotment (automatically placing points?)

Hi!

i'm finally able to play the game again and made a new character last night. I'm up to level 5 , but it seems that i'm not able to distribute any skill points to the attributes I want :(. When I level, my attributes are raised, but I would like to choose which ones

you will be able to add a few every x levels. At level 50 you can add 45 points in stats you wish for

Ohhhh okay. Only time I played was when the game was released and you were awarded points every level then, that's why I was confused
