No Respect

Being a healer is hard enough at some times... But there is nothing more that annoys me than being an Aussie player. Averaging an MS of 500 makes it VERY hard to dodge AOE's especially new bosses that are released, and what is the response I get most often? "Why play online games then?" or "Don't play online games then". Okay, so what am i suppose to do, not play any games at all? As Australia we are quite isolated when it comes to server locations, it's very rarely we are ever close to a game server or if we get one at all. I am trying, believe me i'm doing my best to play the roles.

So what is my point here? :confused:

There is absolutely no need to become aggressive and bully other players because they are not playing to your liking. I ask you all to respect fellow gamers, in the sense that you were new once or that you also lag at times.

Maybe you need to fix your connection? I'm rolling 150ms on Tonberry....and was about 220ms on Sarganatas before the move and that was in TAS.

Hmm, in the end it shouldn't be the connection, i just wish people would respect us more. Not all of us really have a good understanding of how to fix connections and stuff. :sad:

*EDIT, not to mention service providers etc. I live out rural in W.A, so my ping is never fantastic.

Not gonna happen, you are playing with so many different people, from angels to criminals, unfortunately if you can't handle this then a mmo is not meant for you. I also wish there was some more respect and politeness tbh!

Believe me, i'm not going anywhere lol. I've been playing MMO's for years, and i quite enjoy the community in FF14... I just get triggered by people with little to no respect.

Seems more like a human thing rather than healer/FFXIV thing. Jerks will be jerks, there's no remedy for that. I got dropped once for having to answer the door and it's not like i just suddenly went afk, i gave warning and was only away for a min. I'm sure, even in real life you have/will meet people with little to no respect :X

Iam used with high latency but 500 ping on average is waay to high even on eu server, I try once at west server (ultros) and iam stuck with 260-320ms, its the bare minimum for me until i move to jp server tonberry and now i get 100-120ms on average.

If you are ausie shouldn't you be at japan server like elemental instead of eu server? And again 500 is too much, even if you met angelic people they going to decline you in the future, 300 is already pulling it and 500 is pretty much unplayable even worse if you are a key class in party like healer.

Why do you play on Moogle (an european server) ? O.o

I typically tend to fire back at people like this with some sound logic that makes them look either stupid or just plain rude in their demeanor. A good example was when I did the Ishgard bridge trial and it seems only 1 person knew what to do. They just complained the entire first round without offering any kind of knowledge to help the situation. I called them out on it, asked politely to explain what everyone has to do. Shockingly, the second round was easy, and he apologized for his crappy attitude.

Despite their rather unhelpful demeanor, FFXIV has a lot of dodging and a slower connection is going to make this even harder to manage. It does seem your best bet would be to change to a server that doesn't need to travel as far as Europe, but I understand that can also be a tough decision if you have friends and such. I am unsure if it would help, but try closing any background programs running if you are on a PC. The less bandwidth being reallocated, the better.

You can alway try vpn like wtfast, mudfish etc, when i still in ultros it cut my ping pretty decent from 280ish to 200ish
