FF12 style moogles for next playable race.

The first thing I want to ask of you before you read any further is to let go of any prejudice against moogles that may carry over from your time spent in The Churning Mists. If you can get past that, maybe you'll like the idea.

I've wanted to have a playable moogle since FF6. Mog was cool but the moogle design from 6, 9, 14, and other similar designs wouldn't work too well for a playable race with armor and such. My suggestion is have the design from FF12. Here's a picture of moogles from FF12:

Designing armor and weapons for these moogles would be the exact same as lalafells. I also believe the game needs another short race just to have more balanced options.

There's only one big problem I can see with this idea. How would we explain why there are two different moogle designs in one game? I believe the answer could be something as simple as a common ancestor with two different evolutions. The moogles of Moghome turned out one way, and the moogles that would be playable turned out another way. There are other ways to address this.. that is just one idea.

I think the other problems would be minor and easy to address. We could say playable moogles lost the ability to fly during the course of their evolution, but retained their wings. That would eliminate any design/lore problems with having a playable character being able to fly.

Would anyone else love to play a moogle? Since Stormblood just came out, the next expansion must be very early in development, so if SquareEnix hasn't made up their mind yet as to what, if any, the next race will be, now is the time to try and persuade them one way or another.

Always wanted FF tactics / FF12 moogles as a playable race, their differences to our moogles could be explained with them coming from a remote place and thus making those physical changes, that could also tie in with a new expansion zone (Although au ra barely got any development in the expansion they were featured in).

So Ivalice Moogles eh? Well I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't Fantasia into one and a Moogle wearing a Moogle head would be kinda fun and silly.

I don't want any new playable races until they give more options to the ones we have.

I am...oddly ok with this. I wouldn't play them, but I can't find a really solid reason to say no.

There are already differences between the Churning Mists moogles and the Black Shroud moogles. I don't see why that couldn't be taken further to create a new race.

We do need another small race imo.

I'd down with this idea. I think we need another tiny race. Already have plenty of large and average size. Would add another furry race into the mix too. Be cool if they allowed you to choose a pompom colour. I'd totally need a pompom as a Moogle. No pompom and the deal is off!

Yea if moogles were a playable character there's no way Square would take away their pom poms. It can just stick out through helmets like Au Ra horns. Color would have to be configurable too, even though I would go for a traditional deep red. I'm dreaming crappy pipe dreams but, personally, playable moogles would be one of the greatest things Square could ever add to this game.
