Question on current housing status

Hi there, I'm thinking of making the transfer and trying to determine what small/medium houses are open, and their cost.

If anyone could provide some info by tonight, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Last week there were tonnes (Half a dozen in our ward alone), now slots are closing up fast - some people even going so far as to claim there are none left. Likewise when I got my small plot a couple weeks ago it was a mere 1.8 mill, now it's closer to 3 mill I believe.

All housing plots have been bought, in less than a week! Kind of sucks, tbh.

But I suppose some plots will become available when we can buy land in Shirogane though.

There should be several plots opening up in all the housing zones once Shirogane is released. The prices will probably be at their highest since the plots will have just been relinquished. So you'll be looking at about 3-4 million gil for a small, 16-20 for a medium and the small fortune that a large is at full price... >.<

I created and leveled a character to 5 and saw that even Goblet was full, so I ended up going to Goblin. Got a nice medium in the Goblet that has a view of the waterfall for just over 8 million.

There is currently no housing available on Mateus. Ever since Square Enix decided to hand Mateus over to the lovely people of Balmung, there has been less and less. As of today there are several players who have upwards of 10 houses each across several alts. But there are no lots currently for sale.

Really? That's news to me, the rumor I heard was that Mateus regulars were buying up plots to prevent Balmung/Gilgamesh RPers from owning any housing.

They didnt buy plots to stop balmung and gilgamesh players from owning any.

As much as you can believe it, there are a few post on here about a Reddit guy who bought up 28 plots for the very reason of protesting all the refugees coming to Mateus. Again, might not be true but...

When I first saw this thread I wanted to do some research to see if veteran players on our server really were hoarding housing sites via alt characters. What I did find was quite a few plots in the Goblet owned by essentially mirrors or each other (free companies made after stormblood with the same symbol and name) which also happened to match a free company which predated the expansion. This doesn't prove anything conclusively but it looks to me at least that a pre existing free company (or someone using the same name and symbol) did end up buying most of a ward which looks more like a pre-stormblood Mateus player rather than a newcomer to the server. If true, it's pretty sad to enjoy denying other players the chance to have a digital home even though it isn't against the rules to do so as far as I can tell. Hopefully some of these plots will be freed up in the future to allow as many people as possible access to housing, which was a major reason why I joined Mateus over two years ago
