I WANT A /hug EMOTE
Please?? :)
Edit: 2 person emotes like that would be really cool, like a /highfive or a /slap
How about a /afk emote for both sitting and standing.
I like the idea but what would the action be for afk?
A while back there was an emote thread: emotes that had some pretty good suggestions.
I wouldn't mind seeing a few class specific emotes. If your current class was a Marauder, you could do some stereotypical pirate emote, like /arrrrgh or whatever. Conjurers could /pray to the elementals. Pugilist could have a threatening /scowl while punching the palm of their hand. Just hope you don't owe them money. Botanist could give someone a /bouquet of flowers and so on
I would like a /ragequit emote. They could give your character an angry animation & shutdown the game at the same time.
Well, I think they should implement this for 2.0, regardless of the emote:
1) being able to add the word "still" (similar to "motion" added after the emote to display only the motion) to the emote to make the emote hold the position/loop. For example, "/kneel still" makes the character kneel and stay in kneeling position, "/dance still" makes the loop to keep dancing without spamming the server with commands. Why is this important? Not only it prevents players from spamming the server with the same command over and over in certain situation, it also allows NPCs to easily be in other position.
2) Multiple character emote. For example, right now when I target someone and use /comfort (for example) while standing a one or two steps away, my character is doing the comforting motion in the air, which looks awkward. Also, when a Roegadyn interacts with a Lalafell through emotes, everything is done way to high for the Lalafell. As of 2.0, emotes should act differently: when targeting another player, the emote adjust itself to the height of that character AND walk one or two steps toward the character (if necessary) to perform the emote then go back. As usual, there would be no animation lock with emotes.
3) Passive emotes. Emotes triggered by character's actions, not command input. A character speaking could speak (move their lips) and move their hands around (like a normal person speaking), a character shouting could shout with their hands in a cone in front of their mouth, a character talking in a LS while could be seen talking to something in his/her hand, a player writing "lol" in /say could also trigger the /laugh motion, using the sneak skill would put the character in a crouched/sneaky stance (or even simply walking near monsters would trigger a crouched/sneaky stance -- because we walk near monster to avoid detection after all). Obviously, passive emotes would have low priority on animation, which means they would not be triggered during combat or while performing other active actions (example: a character won't talk to a pearl in his hand while fighting with a sword and shield -- however, their lips could still be seen moving or not)
It might not come with the launch of 2.0, but it would be really appreciated to make its way into the game. :D
Better plan ahead to prevent server limitations later on.
