The Key To Victory: unable to progress

I completed all the steps below, but after step #5 I was just returned after a loading screen to the same spot, no NPC companions present. On the map I could see that Lyse was located on the other side of the map (indicated by orange circle). Went there, could still see the orange circle on the map, but Lyse was nowhere to be seen. Unable to progress on this quest, can't abandon it and start again.

The Key to Victory Solo Duty:
1. Follow your allies, killing mobs that they target along the way. You will eventually reach the Saltery.
2. Search for clues only in the immediate area. There are a total of five initial clues in a small vicinity, the last one being a magitek alarm behind the destroyed house near Thancred. Head to Wiscar's side and defend him while destroying all enemies in the area. Beware of all enemy's frontal cone attacks, and try not to point them towards Wiscar.
3. Search for the new diary that pops up in the immediate area, and examine it.
4. Your new task is to traverse a long trek, going southeast on your map. As you travel, you will see imperial machine enemies, which will indicate you are going the right direction.
5. Examine the final destination mark to finish the duty.

This happens when the instance server is screwed. It happened with cold steal aswell. Have you tryed again. I heard there was problems today or night what ever region you are in, maybe give it ago in a few hours if you can that is

I'll try. I trekked all the way back to where the quest just ended, nothing there, hearthed back to where Lyse is supposed to be, nothing, gave up in despair. :D I'll try again tonight.

There is a large enemy to defeat once you arrive at your final destination. Check the cellar once you defeat him. Maybe this helps.
