fighting Ifrit after path 1.20

have anyone tank with GLD after the path? In my personal exp, I went last night and can say that enmity is not a problem anymore, however I was getting hit harder, some how i saw between 100-200 more dmg on normal attacks and 150 more when he breath fire on me.... I found out also that I could heal my self for awhile special with the big pool of MP GLDs have now, anyway as I fought more and more I learn more cool things however one thing I really know that in order to tank properly(to mitigate dmg properly i meant) we will need PLD skills to definitely complement the tanking class. Anyway really want to give thumbs up to SE for the overhaul they did to GLD.

I must do something wrong because I had a hard time keeping hate yesterday on Ifrit where I didn't had any issues prior to 1.20. I cycle Flash / provoke, do the Flat+Fast combo (or the other way around , can't remember, well the one that increases enmity), ageis boon and war drum when ready, cycle rampart/sentinel/outmanoeuver too but if the DDs go wild using combo, they can take the enmity. Do you use any other skills ? I may not spam heal enough yet I guess ?

Any tip is welcome, here ?

DDs have to hold back a bit at the start.

Other than using Flash / Provoke whenever they're up, healing yourself with Second Wind and Cure are your best bets for keeping hate. Shield Bash whenever it's up and Fast > Flat whenever you have extra TP.

Featherfoot will give you a free 100 MP and avoid an attack whenever it's up. Use Sanguine Rite when you expect to take big damage (i.e. before Incinerate or Vulcan Blast) for a big MP boost. You can also ask a mage to cast it on you via Sacred Prism. It only lasts about 15 seconds so make it count - otherwise your MP will be in the negative after using it.

Thanks Kro, that's exactly what I do. I think the main difference now is that the DDs had a passive traits to reduce enmity and that now they have to work their way using active skills from their classes or cross classes.

Havent had a chance to do ifrit post 1.20 yet. Can you block past 3rd phase yet?

you can now block swipe as well as any other physical attack all throughout the fight, as well as evade making featherfoot nice to use.

Personally I found Ifrit easy to tank post 1.20. I had no problem keeping up hate with Fast-Flat combo, Flash, voke and Sentinel. I never once lost hate the three times we fought him.

Once you get positioning down its really not that difficult. Mind you I am still having trouble getting him back into position after Hellfire, but once that milestone is tackled the fight really just comes down to DPS, proper positioning and surviving hellfire.

Post 1.20 GLA really have a defined role in the fight, and damn if it doesn't feel good to be wanted!

I have had no issue tanking Ifrit Pre and Post 1.20 as a GLD with hate or damage taken, even if for whatever reason I died i could grab the hate back and recover pretty well. Although issue is now that some of us(my ls) are still figuring out/getting used to the new strategy.
