I'm on ps4, and I'm having a heck of a time targeting things like ARR S ranks that die quickly. My controls make me cycle through a big mob of players and I was wondering if there's any way to *just* target the monster.

I'm on ps4, and I'm having a heck of a time targeting things like ARR S ranks that die quickly. My controls make me cycle through a big mob of players and I was wondering if there's any way to *just* target the monster.
Hold L1 and press circle, your target will only cicle through enemies. If you want to set it back to all it is L1 + triangle.
But the best option is to filter what you want to be on your target cicle in "Character Configuration" > "Control Settings", where you can unmark friendly players, pets, npcs...
