Chocobo Healing for Summoners

Chocobo healing skills have always been kinda weird/janky depending on their stance, you hp, etc etc but I did notice something kinda odd about 'what' they'll actually heal:

They utterly refuse to acknowledge a summoner's pet as a heal-able target in any sense of the word. They'll heal other PC if I'm teamed up and actually use Choco Medica in those situations (I've yet to see it use medica while solo) but otherwise when solo it'll only heal its owner and not their pet. Even in healer stance.

Giving the lack of sustain and the issues with titan egi, I'm just wondering if this is just bad companion AI or that summoner pets just don't seem to 'exist' to the companion even though its in the same party.

It's really hard to tell with the SMN class if it's just terrible design or working as intended. LOL. I mean, they did remove sustain after all. I hate having to have it out at all times with my smn and have it focused solely on healing (for when Titan-egi dies after two hits.) Why must I need another pet to compensate for the class pet? It's ridiculous.
