Okay, so all morning I've been attempting to test out my MRD's combos. I don't know if this has anything to do with directional placement with my combo's, or what. I put this in the Gen. Discussion too because noone checks MRD thread ever, and I was also curious if other classes were having this problem (My GLA seems to be fine)

I've noticed that:

Heavy Swing -> Skull Sunder = Increased Enmity - This combo works. Cool, cool. :O


Brutal Swing > Maim - Does not work. Hmm, well, maybe I need more TP. I saved up to 3k TP, and tried this:

Brutal Swing > Maim > Godsbane - Okay! That worked! Let's try it again once the recast is done. But to no avail. Hmm...very strange. Very strange indeed. Okay, just try another one out, maybe it's glitched or something.

Path of the Storm > Whirlwind - Also does not work. D: What hell, yo?


Are any other classes having this problem? Or am I simply just getting it wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

My combos always work as intended, I just make sure that I'm in the correct position for whatever the first ability in the chain is. For example, for Heavy Swing, I'm required to be in front, and that sets up the combo and I can use Skull Sunder in any position afterward. So in my experience, you only need to be in position for the first move in the chain for it all to execute.

All combo's have set flanks (positions) in order to execute the buff that goes along with them. The whole point of combo's is to utilize the buffs you receive from them. For example:

I start with Pummel on the front of the mob, then Concussive Blow on either the left or right or it and then finish with Simian Thrash in whichever position.

Works everytime for me. One thing I also noticed is that there doesn't seem to be a set amount of time between WS' to proc the combos.. which helps.. so don't worry about having to throw the next WS as soon as you can, you can wait a few seconds.. re position and shoot!

Yea, basically just go tackle some easy mobs and play around, if you have trouble reaching certain positions build your TP to 3000 and keep it until the next mob so you can start at different positions each time. You'll eventually get it. I haven't checked this out myself yet either so I can't give you -where- to start.

For a combo to work you need to fulfill not only the order but the position too.

If you don't Brutal swing from left or right the combo won't start. Same goes for path of the storms (i can't stop thinking this name change was completely gay) from behind.

Also, it's important to say that buffing godsbane is a waste of actions :/ ATM the best WS to stack buffs is whrilwind.

Nothing to add but yes, name change on Storm's Path was not needed and makes it sound silly.

It was simply called stormwind in Japanese to begin with. I guess they changed it because of wow? But now this long verbose name is just stupid.

Storm Path is a nice name IMO...but they should've kept the "Sturmwind", that is a classic FF action name.

...but path of the storm is retard in many aspects. :/

Thanks for the positioning thing. Didn't know that. I was wondering why they never worked. Guess I didn't read the patch notes well enough. Always got the heavy swing one to work lol. Though the actions never get circled in purple like all the screencaps show :/

I also had issues figuring it out. i'm just upsetwith a few aspects now:

-now a 3-WS combo deals less dmg than a single WS used to...
-You can't really use AoEs when you need them because one is upon parrying and the other requires 3000 TP.

I wish 3000 TP WSs at least dealt a decent amount of dmg even if not comboed.
