Is Hydaelyn a spherical planet or flat? 4.0 seems to imply that it is flat.

The time of day in both Eorzea and the Doma/Kugane region is the same...so is Hydaelyn flat or what?

It is spherical. Shown in at least one cs, and I think its mentioned in the Encyclopedia Eorzea.

Gameplay mechanics/lore segregation.

My own "flat-Eorzea" wonderings have been more tied to boggling over sailing east across Garlean-infested waters rather than sailing west and around the other side. xD

There's a much more dangerous continent to the west. I think they confirmed this on some lore panel at some point.

I think it is more that the new world continent blocking the west is not shown.

There's gameplay and story segregation that was mentioned. But a more realistic answer is the the WoL simply adjusts their pocket watch to match the local clocks.

We have seen the whole planet at some point. Remember when Elidibus and the WoD were on the moon?

Yeah, we haven't seen the whole map. Meracydia is to the south of us and you can't even see it on the given map.

Since I am not completely sure on the lore, I have headcanon for it.

WoL is blessed by Hydelyn, part of the soul of the star. Being uniquely attuned to the star's aether, the WoL innately knows what time it is. This is how he knew what was going on when Alex Prime used the time stop thing. Just headcanon though.

Realistically, it would be a huge pain in the programming to do time zones, as you would have a few in ARR zones alone, and it would mess up node spawns and such. I can see it now, "x pops between 1 and 3 am." La Noscea time, Shroud Time, Doma time, Far Eastern time, or Imperial time?
