Question about the new colored items

Quick question here.

After the patch, everyone that had stuff like Felt Bilaud (Brown) kept it, just like promised.

However, before the patch, a Felt Bilaud (Brown) had a stat bonus, that has been removed since the bonus version would be the Felt Bilaud of Intelligence (Brown).

They made it very clear that just dying an item (EX: Felt Bilaud => Felt Bilaud (Brown) would keep the materia affixed to that item.

However, does crafting Felt Bilaud => Felt Bilaud of Intelligence or Felt Bilaud (Brown) => Felt Bilaud of Intelligence (Brown) also keep the materia, or is it lost in the process?

Because, if it does remove the materia, then everyone that had colored gear will have to craft and meld a new item from the start if they want the stat bonus =/

I was under the impression the colored better stated gear from 1.19 would name change to [Item] of {Stat} (Color) but it didnt. sad face

thought that too. In fact, I only noticed it didn't when I switched to Goldsmith and the items weren't removed.

Did you guys miss the entire section of the patch notes regarding this? Open them up and search for the post titled "New Dyeing System: Item Name Changes".

Uhhhh what? Your 1.19 colored gear should indeed be [item] of [type] (color). I didn't extensively check all of my gear DoW/DoM, but all of my crafting stuff is indeed [item] of toiling (color).

Well, I can assure you my gear didn't change. It kept the color, lost the stat bonus.

EDIT: Felt Bilaud and Felt Cavalier's hat are not on the list, that might be the reason. However, it's dumb and unfair to correctly change most other items and ignore those.

Bump. need to know if this intentional or not, or at least if I can use these items to craft an augmented version and keep the materia =/

Felt gear didn't get any felt of certain stat and color. I read on the updated recipes.

About materia, no idea.
