Give us Two Types of Sprint Abilities

So the new sprint system is not going to well with a few people...

overall, the ability is a great buff to TP users in battle (or i hope that's the perspective), but for just about everything else, its a big nerf.

so my sugestion is to give us two types of sprint types. one with battle utility, and the other with Misc utililty.

so let's start with the "combat" sprint that may only be used in battle. this sprint would not use TP, and pretty much the same CD as we have now.

the "focus" sprint would be a sprint that you may only use outside of battle. this sprint would also not use TP. i would personally want this sprint to also be 60 seconds, but allow the player to sprint for 40-50 seconds.

however, here is the catch. if any enemy engages a player as "Focus" sprint is active, the player will stop sprinting immediately. if the player wants to get away from said enemy, then he/she would need to use "Combat" sprint to get away.

sound fair? please post your thoughts.

They just got done getting rid of action bloat. I don't think splitting our basic actions into multiple versions is the best course of action. That flies in the face of what they were trying to achieve.

Just let it have the original cooldown out of combat.

yes, it can be just one ability: that is always an option. but in my head i was thinking of different scenarios, and one was a player using sprint, then accidentally catching an enemies attention, and therefore cannot use sprint again to get away.

people can always Macro the ability to be one sprint:

/micon "Focus/combat sprint"
/ac "Focus Sprint"
/ac "Combat Sprint"

I would like to extend the sprint time during non-combat.

that's cool too, but what i suggested was more of a personal suggestion. i do like the new sprint CD, just not the 20 sec sprint. never really liked it in its original form either, but i would not mind having it back considering what we have now is just ridiculous.

overall, im just disappointed as to how sprint works now. i was expecting buff to more than just TP cost before the update.

As was already said, no need to add more actions. I have a shared utility hotbar I use for sprinting, I don't want to have to ever think about this. It seems more straightforward to just change sprint's recast depending on whether it's used in combat. No need to overcomplicate things.

Just increase movement speed outside of combat, like with the mount speed increases ;D

In all seriousness though, I agree with sprint have a better buff when used outside of combat, not just for gathering, but also for navigating cities and the overworld

ive already responded to the subject in the 4th post.

i fully understand, and keeping just one sprint ability with this "in-and-out of combat" concept is always an option.

Or we can just have the current effect but with previous cd. Since SE wish to lower the skill floor for more players anyway, might as well.
