Forced name change issue

So, created a character with a name that I wanted to reserve on a server I was transfering to.
I didnt delete it before I transfered, I didnt think it would be an issue if I moved then deleted the character with the name I wanted. SO i moved, then once the move was complete..deleted the dummy name reserved character

so now it tells me to change my name, but even though ive deleted the old one and released the name.. I cant use the same name I currently have. When it moved, I was still flagged with the same name as the placeholder so I have to change it to something else.
ive never seen this function like this in any mmo ive played, even though i knew id have to change names on the move it should have renamed the character to something placeholder so I could duplicate it once it was put on the server i moved to.

Unfortunately once it's flagged for a change, you need to change it and it won't let you change it to the same name (as I'm guessing you've probably tried).

Your only really solution here is to change it to something else and then quickly buy a name change from the mogstation. I know it's far from a perfect solution, but it would get you back up and running again and I've never heard of SE "unflagging" an account from a name change (or if they have, no one has ever posted about it on forums/reddit that I've seen...) :(

ya i just changed it to something else. im sure it will grow on me :)
it does seem like a flaw though, but maybe its put in place for a reason.. seems strange.
