Hey guys,
So as we all know, housing is a little bit of a limited thing.
I was wondering, is it "legal" to buy a house/plot from somebody else?
And if so, what do i need to know before doing such a thing. (you know not to get scammed and stuff)

I would like to know this too. Because, once the plots of land are all bought up, how is one supposed to get their own plot of land if not from another player? Just sit there and wait for one to become available? Also when does the housing district in Kugane open up, again? I don't recall.
It is sort of a grey area to be honest.
Buying a house means that you are buying the ability to buy a plot once it is vacated. There are no guarantees on this. I would make sure the plot has no house before sending money.
Then you have to fork over MORE money to actually buy the plot, and on top of that you have additional money to put down to actually erect a house. You are -safer- to wait for a plot to go at the 30 day marker and snatch it up, or make sure you make a dead sprint whenever the new district is opened up.
This transaction looks like this
WTS Small House - The Goblet 8M.
-8 million to buy ability to purchase plot
-4 million to buy the actual plot
-1 million (slightly less) to place a house on the plot.

Well the money isnt the issue (for me atleast) just the know how is.
I also think i will have little chance of getting a house in the new area, so i am pretty sure this is the only way.
I don't think there are consequences for buying, other than possibly encouraging house flippers. I do encourage anyone looking to take a peak at the ward listings on the hour once in awhile to see if any houses have opened up naturally from the 45 day reclamation timer. It happens all the time, just keep checking. I would wait on Shirogane to try and snag one if you can. Not only will you have the chance at one there, but with the moving feature coming, a good chunk of people are looking to open up the slots in old areas by moving their house over. A lot of people are going to forget to check the old areas immediately. We still don't know when that will open up however.
