Protect or Shell Only

So I'm kinda shocked right now as to the fact that there is no popular thread on this subject.

Why does this seem to only bother me...

I haven't tried it yet since I'm downloading the patch but why isn't this like super talked about on the forums right now... This kinda seems like "ok, now you have to make a choice, protect yourself from all normal attacks or magic attacks" and you never know which one a mob will throw at you. Sure it adds a level of depth but in most other FF's you could have both... This is... new...

well, maybe the reason no populkar thread is up about this is that it was 5 of em yesterday? not really "news"

did some digging, nvm, i hope it's what i read protect = shell+protect

Shell isn't even a spell. And does not need to be. We needed less actions for the sake of just having them around.
