Greetings,
To clarify, Skill Speed does not increase the rate of auto-attacks, but increases the damage of auto-attacks. Apologies for the patch notes not being clear!
Really lame since it would have been awesome with the NIN trait.
That's a shame to hear, would be nice if NIN had more ways to influence their gauge aside from Mug.
The number of auto attacks is based on the weapon you use. Weapon auto attack is in seconds divided by delay for the amount of attacks that occur.
Skillspeed reduces weaponskill cool down times and effects DoT but the DoT damage potencies are low. It does nothing for auto attacks. If so they need to state it in the attribute definition on the lodestone.
Determination may increase auto attack damage because it increases damage dealt. An auto attack is damage being dealt.
Actually, the Patch Notes says: "Skill speed now also affects auto-attacks."
As well as the in-game tool-tip for Skill Speed states: "Affects both casting and recast timers, as well as the damage over time potency for weaponskills. The higher the value, the shorter the timers/higher the potency."
It seems extremely strange for "Skill Speed" to suddenly equate to "Auto-Attack Potency."
EDIT: In addition, the more Skill Speed you stack in game, the tool-tips still say it's lowering Recast times on Global Cool Downs.
Please clarify.
The English tooltip is wrong. Simple as that. It affects damage of auto-attacks.
