Queue times are unacceptable thread #11111

I'm sure this has been mentioned before.

Between a full time job, chores, outings, blah blah blah I have around 2-3 hours of free time. I've sat in queue for 30 minutes so far. Now because I'm not a regular subscriber, this is leaving some really bad impressions on me; if I pay for something, I expect to use it within a reasonable amount of time. If, for the next 2 weeks, the queue time is 30+ minutes everyday that kinda adds up.

It doesn't help that I'm a software developer; I know about load testing and scaling servers. I don't know what reason Square-Enix decided to skip the load testing part and not find a way to recruit a service for, say expansion release month or two, increasing the server load...but FFXIV is not exactly a dying game so there is obviously $$$ to go around.

Just my 2 cents, I'm gonna hit the unsubscribe button now and will resubscribe if the server queues are fixed sooner than late; I'm fully aware it probably won't be fixed due to the problem likely being nested deep in the backend structure.

Generally it sorts itself in less than a week. You're complaining about this during literal "early access" when everyone and their dog is trying to get on. No provider has managed to successfully solve this, and it still isn't as bad as [a certain science-fiction-mmo-license-now-owned-by-Disney].

If you're not a regular subscriber, then clearly this queue isn't your problem with the game to begin with.

I know right? Three hours, twenty-seven minutes for me. After getting pushed out due to a disconnect that happened fifteen minutes after logging in.

Queue time for me (as a tank, like yourself) its like about 2 - 3 minutes.

DPS have longer queue times. Tank e healers have waaaaaaaaaaaaay lower queue time.

My interpretation was that the OP was complaining about login queues.

That's cute

You do understand what the Queue is for right? Without it the servers would crash making it so that NO ONE could play at all. Welcome to an MMO/Expansion launch my friend. But seriously check back in a week or so and this will be a thing of the past.

Haha yeah, I'm on Greg. I logged in day one fully expecting to cry over queue times. Unfortunately if you don't have much time to play then there's a chance you won't be able to get much done when an expansion just comes out because things are going to be shaky for a while. Give it some time and it'll level out, OP - faster on your server than mine, too.
