Stuttering movement while running

Whenever I run I often get this strange stuttering movement where my character alternates between run and walk speeds, witj the occasional stop altogether, anyone have any clue what the cause may be? I'm on ps4.

I have two controllers which I regularly alternate between, using one while the other is charging, one is older than the other yet both started doing this around the same time, and has become worse since SB

I get the same issue only with one of the two of my controllers. It's the controller itself and not the game especially how cheaply made the PS4 controllers where made compared to the PS3 ones.. May be time for a new one.
