So, while I love EXP through PVP, it's opened the door to a new problem.

People intentionally throwing games because it gets them faster EXP.

There has to be something that can be done about these "people", because I don't want this system to go away. The new PVP is great, and being able to level DPS classes and other classes that are...shall we say, less than fun to play in dungeons is great, not to mention not having to decide between leveling and playing PVP.

i am one to say its not new, before it was for tomes, now its for exp.
i don't want this system to get away too, it don't make sense to punish everyone just because a minority of players is abusing of the system.
The system is not in fault, its just a minority of players used to abusing for exp, tomes, wintrading ect...

The only way to stop such people is to make PVP a zero reward mode. I mean nothing, not even PVP Exp. It's farmed by the worst type of 'people' for Exp, PVP Exp, Wolf Marks, Gil, Seals, Tomestones, Mounts (via achievements), Glamour... basically everything. There's a type of 'person' who will cheat at everything in their lives if they benefit & get away with it. You know the type, they ask to look over your homework for 'ideas' but copy it wholesale & steal toilet rolls from Charity centres despite having loads at home. ¬_¬

All they need to do is reduce amout of EXP 2nd place gets in feast and same thing for 2nd and 3rd place in FL's, im actually suprised they didnt do this right from the start because "throwing matches for faster exp" is what came first to my mind when i saw patch notes. Also this same thing should be applied to tomestones so there would be a reason to go for the win.

The problem with reporting everyone is that you are then stuck in a 10 minute conversation with a GM and while the GM I spoke too was nice, it's not how I want to spend all my time after every PVP match. They basically gave a nearly instaqueue that you can mostly AFK in and watch Netflix and get a ton of exp for doing nothing. Worse, it's making everyone turn on each other and the AFKers join in groups and taunt everyone. I like the PVP in this game, part of the reason I resubbed, so it's kind of sad to me, but I'm not sure what to do about it really.

2nd place should give zero xp, poetics, wolf marks, so AFKers and bots would benefit nothing by AFKing. For them there's no reason to try if result is the same anyway, so why bother?

That won't work, it's Team vs Team so as long as the rest of the members play well its possible, & common, to have AFK scum in the winning team.

I agree. It give players a lot more incentive to win rather than just joining for "free EXP."

PvP is really fun, but it's annoying when people purposely throw. They just want the XP and have no incentive to play since their reward is the same. At 62 I was getting 614k a match. Why not half that to 307k for second and 153k for third.

I had a friggin healer pull this earlier. Didn't cast a thing, just wandered around watching everyone die.

I seriously think PvE rewards from PvP should be based on personal contribution: Damage dealt, damage mitigated, HP healed (not counting overheal), etc.
