Why not do a stagger rotation of taking some servers offline for a few hours to help free up the congestion?
And yes before anyone asks I would gladly have my server be taken offline first if it means I can get past the MSQ 2 hours from now rather than not for the next foreseeable few days.
My guess is that they wouldn't do something like that because while you, and perhaps even a great many others, would be fine with such a solution.. The vast majority of the players would flip their proverbial hats if SE shut down their server so other could progress.
Reason and patience aren't exactly in abundance around here these last couple days.
