Display main hand on/off

Why do the forums say

/display main on
/display main off

if these don't work. I had to be told by someone in game to use

/display mh on/off

I was about to post mh didn't work either, but it does... I tried it some time back and it didn't work lol

i use "/display mh on/off" and it always worked perfectly here.

it was changed last patch from "/display main hand" to "/display mh", the lodestone probably just wasn't updated when the patch dropped. There are a metric ton of places on the lodestone that have not been updated ever, take this page for example:

I think that's mainly due to the change to the /equip syntax. and someone forgetting to edit a line of text

Yeah, the Lodestone information is out of date in a lot of places. We're well aware of it, it's just a matter of making all of the needed updates. When it comes to the forums, it might just be old patch information versus the most up-to-date version like Molly mentioned. The "display main" was implemented in 1.18a, but was updated in 1.19. Sorry for the confusion it caused!

I don't think it's prudent to update old patch notes to the newest command, though. It's more of a 'history' of what happened, and if we updated one old thing to the newest, it'd start a whole chain reaction (wouldn't it? ;)).

I agree. It's better not to update old patch notes. They tell an interesting story of how this game has evolved. Besides, that would be a lot of extra work.
