Transfer Reimbursement
Has anyone here transferred to the new World Omega? I read somewhere on the lodestone that if you choose to transfer to a new world, you get reimbursed for your current plot.
Do you remove furnishings first and then apply for the transfer? Once you're out of your current server is your plot automatically relinquished/reimbursed?
Sorry for the questions, I can't find the link where it holds all that information.
And just to be clear, this only applies to new Worlds aka only Omega, right?

You want this. Says to remove furniture & the estate hall (DO NOT relinquish the plot).

I got a question somewhat pertaining to this as well.
If you do a server transfer without relinquishing the plot, how long will it be until the plot is available for purchase? I have a friend that wishes to buy my plot after I switch, but we don't know if there's a grace period.

It's available straight away. As soon as you transfer, it'll demolish.

I didn't know you had to remove the furniture and the estate and lost tons of stuff, isn't that what the resident caretaker is for!?!?
Super sad right now, was basically forced off Balmung because of 4hr login Qs, played there since Fabul v1 server merge, and now this.
I read over the document and it seemed they didn't want me to take down the house so I didn't. I thought they would give me the gil and
sent the rest to the caretaker as they do when land is auto relinquished. So confused, this is not enough to cover the loss and I even lost my new banner from stormblood.
Used this as my guide, foun it when searching site for server transfer.

That is what that link states. So if you knew about the incentive to get money back for transferring you would have had to have read it on the link mentioned above in this thread and it says very precisely what needs to be done.
The system isn't flawed.

* It is possible to perform a World transfer without relinquishing ownership ONLY IF your character is transferring to a New World, or transferring from a Congested World to a Preferred World. In these cases, the land, or apartment will be automatically relinquished and a designated amount of gil reimbursed. The maximum amount that can be returned is 999,999,999 gil, and any gil exceeding this limit will be lost. Any existing estate on the land will be demolished.
In the event that your estate has been automatically relinquished, your character cannot have housing items in the care of the Resident Caretaker NPC.
This is what misled me I think.
The guide Dustytomb linked did a better job of making sure ppl know to remove furniture, had I seen that guide I would have been ok, they should at least remove the dated guide. Why are there 2?

One is for transfer from congested to new or preferred server. Other is basic transfer guide.
