Fuel to the current dumpster fires...

Hey guys,

I'm sure it is becoming painfully clear to each and every single one of you that this expansion has been a failure thus far. Whether or not you've experienced the current bugs or fell in the travesty pit that is "Best served with Cold Steel" just remember:

1) SE already has your money. There is no going back, You've paid your sub and probably spent an arm and leg on the pricier versions of this expansion.

2) Time is not your friend. All they have to do is stall.

3) Congestion/Issues will only worsen.

4) You won't be compensated. There is no resolution for this mess. The head start is almost to it's half way point.

5) Are you surprised? Since the launch of ARR each of these head start have ran into these same major issues and pitfalls. It's always wonky.

6) Don't bother with threats. Just like your bug reports and congestion complaints, they will only be ignored.

Overall when it's all said and done. Let this go. Enjoy your weekends, elsewhere.

It's not becoming clear to me at all, OP.

I feel very sorry for people who are getting d/c-ed by server congestion and then having to endure long queue times, but the frustration is self-inflicted to some extent. I couldn't play until last night because of work and had to sit through a 15 min queue (484 ppl) to log in, then got kicked pretty quickly due to a Direct X error. So i switched back to Direct X9 on the config tab & tried logging in again ... 900plus this time, took about 40 mins. But I didn't growl at the screen because I was playing on a fairly high population server (Ragnarok) and I was expecting the queues & the occasional crashes. I read the ire on the forums while I waited and had to shake my head at the folks shrieking about standing in the Raubahn queue for 5hrs, 9hrs, 14hrs. i mean, come on? Why would do that to yourself? Leave it & come back when it's fixed!

I didn't go near that quest, and neither did my friends. We did the other quests in the area we could do, ran some new fates that gave amazing XP, explored two new areas & picked up aether currents, unlocked RDM & SAM & had some fun with those - and boy are they fun. Then i took a break and got some sleep.

First think i did this morning - as agreed with my FC - was transfer to Omega. then i rushed to the beach in Mist & bought a small house. The queue to log in? 1person. Went to try & do Raubahn, immediate entry. No D/c's all day (12 hours, pretty much)

STORY IS AMAZING! KUGANE IS SO BEAUTIFUL. I AM LOVING EVERY MINUTE. I am also sure there are lots of people having the same experience as I have who won't post here because they know they'll get insulted, called a fan boy and so on. But I am tired of the abuse that some of you seem to think it's okay to hurl at the men and woman who worked very hard to bring us SB and are working even harder to resolve the usual MMO launch issue ASAP. The folks whose poor characters who've gotten stuck in the Ruby Sea aren't being abusive; yeah, they're unhappy but they're asking for help from the GMs that they will helpfully get soon

tl; dr
SB has had teething problems, as expected; those of us who didn't focus on the negatives but did other things in-game have somehow managed to have a really positive time and can't wait to play more tomorrow

I doubt the MSQ issues, discovered or not, will be resolved before the end of the month. The expansion of microtransactions and presence of whales mean that Square can afford to take this leisurely, and fire a scapegoat if absolutely needed because they're all expendable. None of the Japanese businessmen that set the timetables or prioritize resources care what you say or do.

Launch issues will go away. Not right now, MAYBE not even in a week, but they'll go away. When they do, and we can all level to 70 easily without crashes or walls or anything and play the content, things will be great for the next two -years-. What's a few days going to do?

That said...I think a beta would have helped. With a larger beta, the two biggest issues (MSQ walls and titan character lock) would have been caught.

Issues being caught and issues being fixed are two entirely different things. WoW: Legion had significant bugs that were reported in alpha and were still present 6+ months after the expansion launched.

It's a burning dumpster full of bugs in a burning data-center.

Actually, we have been compensated in the past with no monthly fees for a period because of problems on their end.
