How is embrace calculated?

I'm only level 61 so my numbers aren't endgame, but I'm curious as to the discrepancy I see with embrace. This could just be a potency question, but what factors are involved here?

Given Embrace is 250 potency, it is currently healing me for 2450-2600 HP per cast. Alternatively Physick is a flat 400 potency and heals for 5700-5900. By result, embrace is healing at an equivalent of about 180 potency give or take, so this is about a 30% decrease in effectiveness. Does the fairy just have its own unique stat table? I am currently at 1615 MND (ilvl 270).

Maim and Mend increases healing done by 30% and it is specifically worded now that it effects both player and fairy, but is it actually not doing so? What am I missing here?

Fairy is approximately 2/3s as powerful as master, though I know I haven't done many recalculations since my initial testing in July of 2015 and I'm not sure if anyone else has either.
