After using Tale of Adventure Heavensword - aether compass

Hello,

I used the tale of adventure, ready for stormblood. but I am missing the compass item to find the aether on the new map. how should I proceed can I go find and do the main quest that gives it?

check your key items. if you didn't actually get one, I am pretty sure you get it from Haurchefant Greystone, in Ishgard. If you actually did the work instead of buying your way past it, the quest tells you that if you somehow lose it that it is possible to get another one.

If you used the tale, then you need to go to Gaufrid in Rhalgr's Reach 14.3 / 9.6. The main stormblood quest will take you there almost immediately. He'll give you an aether compass the first time you talk to him. The other guy in Ishgard doesn't work if you used the tale of adventure.
