Since neither of the new jobs have a base class, What class does a retainer need to be, to be assigned the new jobs. My guess would be one of the casters (blackmage?)f or RDM and monk for SAM. Can anyone confirm this?
Is it even possible to assign these jobs to a retainer yet?
(Yes, I have a copy of modern vocation.)
Could retainers be assigned DRK/MCH/AST?
I genuinely don't know, just kinda assumed they could only maintain base classes.
It's my understanding that if they have a job (i.e. Monk instead of Pugilist) they have to be reset using the copy of Modern Vocation.
You should level up your retainer to level 50, then the RDM/SAM option will appear. Then use your retainer vocate (If I remembered correctly, the one you use to change from class to job)
That's how I got my retainer as RDM
