WAR. What's it even good for?

Absolutely- I'll wait until playing before finishing that punchline.

I am curious to hear the thoughts of WAR mains now that the official job guides have been published, however.

At least WAR is better than DRK apparently...
What the heck is SE thinking, not adding a new tank, and then making 1/3 of the current tanks bad, and another 1/3 even worse?

I'll still give WAR a shot, it still looks okay enough to play. I am prepared to welcome our PLD overlord and usher in the era of double PLD meta though.

If enough tanks disappear, the general populace will scream at SE that there aren't enough tanks. SE will realize that somethings wrong and look at the data showing a drastic decrease in the war and drk population, thus bringing out the buff bazooka. Until then i'm going to play red mage :)

I'm looking forward to being a Samurai until Squenix gets their heads out of their asses.

this is shit situation for WAR, but nowhere near as shitty as they were in early 2.0
but yeah this will still mark the first time i stop playing this job and roll to another, probably PLD or DRG

If I wasn't behind enough on MSQ (Haven't finished HW yet), and was patient enough to wait the insane time the queues are gonna take for DPS, I'd be switching to RDM/SAM.
And unfortunately I don't even have PLD leveled (Only lvl 22) to switch to the only good tank.

SE will probably exclude the tank role from the limit break penalty so that players can run as Dual PLD without worry.

It doesn't look good, I'm afraid, but it's what I expected. My hopes were set pretty low after I first saw the stance change penalty; I get the distinct impression that SE doesn't understand what makes WAR interesting.

I'll still give it a go, but I imagine I will be switching to PLD if I'm intent on raiding as a tank; we will see.
