Lag in dungeons

Hi everyone, I'm an Aussie and new to FFXIV, I seem to be having a great deal of lag in dungeons, I have a vpn and can connect to anywhere in the world, but have left it switched off while playing, I'm on Midgardsormr, which is NA, I think the data centre is in Montreal?. Should I move servers, someone said something about Aussie players on Tonberry? which is japan, I wouldn't know how to ping each data centre to check for latency, I cant even see what my latency in game is ?
What should I do to get the lowest latency :confused:

Edit, After some testing, I'm seeing 170ms to the Japan servers, 270ms to the NA servers and 350ms to the EU server, now I just need a free server transfer to Tonberry ?

US data centers were just moved to CA, west coast, so presumably that would've been an improvement for you.

That's all the clarification I can give. I think I may have also heard of Tonberry being a sort of unofficial AUS server, but couldn't say for sure.

Yes Aussies all come to Tonberry, but you'll probably still have about 300 ping unless you use a VPN.
