Question regarding not purchasing SB first

Will I be able to enjoy the new changes without purchasing SB first? As in the new skills overhaul/changes and the inventory space? As a new player, I would like to enjoy the older contents first and getting other jobs/crafts up first before purchasing.

Skill changes? Definitely. They are not going to maintain two different versions of this, so these changes will apply to everyone.
Extra inventory space? You will most likely get this as well. It is remotely possible it will be locked behind owning SB, but I very much doubt it.
I think even the new jobs will be available to everyone.

What you won't be able to do without buying SB is enter any of the new zones, or advance above level 60.

Engine and system changes will apply to everyone. Lack of the expansion will only cap your level and lock you out of content. (RDM and SAM are content; you will not have access to them)

I consider the battle/class changes as a separate, free, and mandatory patch that coincides with the release of Stormblood - but is a separate entity.

Inventory space, however, I'm not so sure of. I consider an inventory expansion in the same vein as a level cap increase.

The inventory is all on character, likely everyone will get this. I really don't see them gating the coding for that, not really worth it for them.

In the cade of Red Mage and Samurai, you will need to have a registered copy of Stormblood/Early Access but you will not need anything past 2.0 story wise, simply the level 50 Char. This point was overstated to differentiate it from DRK/MCH/AST which required the completion of 2.55 and 3.0 MSQs barely started to even have access to them.
