Moving XIV
How easy/difficult would it be to move XIV from one hard drive to another? I put XIV on my SSD but it's quickly running out of room and I'm worried I don't have enough space for SB. Should I uninstall it first and re-download the launcher to my bigger drive? Or just copy things over?

I'm assuming its in the register too so easiest might just be to do a fresh install of the game and copy the settings and macros from the Documents folder

You can cut & paste the folder. Then running ffxivboot.exe will makes appropriate changes. Just delete old shorcuts. All your character settings are kept because they stay on your documents folder.

What LalaRu says is correct. I moved my FFXIV folder from my old HDD to my new SSD back then and I had zero issues. Just create the new shortcuts when you do so, because they still will have the old route. Or you can right click on it and change it to the new route.

Wow sounds very easy and convient. I'll keep that in mind when i change out my bootdrive too

Moving the game is not a good idea, it might get difficulties with your PC being able to locate it. Better to re-download on your new SSD then potentially encounter problems because of just moving it.

I would like to point out that some time around 2005, companies stopped using the registry for configuration and instead use 1 or more of the following 3 places: My Documents, installed folder location, and/or AppData folder (this one is hidden by default).
If you move the folder, all you have to do these days if you are struggling to launch things is change shortcuts to point to the new folder location.
NOTE: Make sure you have permission to edit files in the new location that you copy the folder to though. If you lose that permission, if could cause trouble with the updater and saving changes to the settings.
