Really?.. I mean, come on!

Hey guys.

Okay, so let me start with a bit of background here, to set the atmosphere.

So I bought FFXIV upon release, played it for a while, then stopped abruptly.

So now, a while down the track, I reactivated my account, created a new character and started again.

Now, what the hell?!:mad:
Why does no-one communicate?!
I am rather experienced in FFXI, So I understand the game for the most part, but there are some things that just require a bit of a person to person communication, but no, it turns out, people don't want to talk!

I mean, come on!
It's a F***ing MMORPG, stop being assholes and talk to your fellow gamers!

I don't mean to flame, nor do I have any problems with the game itself.
I just want a people to talk to, ask a few questions every now and again, do some quests together, you know? MMORPG STUFF!!

What's going on here?
Are people really that f***ing ignorant?
Or are they just that obsessed with botting that they don't give two sh**s about actually playing the game?

Please guys, I play on Gyshal, I just want some people to talk to, help me through some of the lesser known things, and just general stuff. Why is it soo damn hard to find co-operative people?!!!:mad::mad::mad:

It could be your server, what time you play, or other things, but in general people seem to be keeping to their LS's for many things in this game. Coincidentally, the patch coming later this week is adding in a better party search that works more like FF11's, so hopefully after that you'll be able to find more people to play with. I know there's quite a bit of people that are holding off on logging on until that patch hits, so maybe that is a reason why you aren't seeing as many talkative people.

As far as talking with people or joining LS's, you can try shouting in Ul'dah or making conversation with people at aetheryte camps. You can also try posting on the Gyshal board in the Forums here. Good luck =)

I know I probably come off as the king of douche-baggery, but I REALLY love FF and I REALLY love MMORPGs, FFXI was a dream for me, and having soo much trouble here in FFXIV really..... it .... it breaks my goddamn heart..

speaking at all should make people speak back, though, as he before me said, most people speak in ls chat. also, your server is mostly jp i think, so thaat might be a reason.

Mostly Jap? Really.... I chose this server because I read somewhere that it was the unspoken oceanic server during beta...
Can you recommend a server with a higher ratio of English speakers?..

I pretty much only just re-started, so doing it again isn't a problem, it if will increase my chances of finding friendly, co-operative English speaking people.

I'm in your server. Tell me in game Arecyus Ragnarok for a linkshell. There are a lot of ppl from around the world, NA, europe, Australia.

I played too in Besaid and Trabia and yes maybe gysahl has a lot of more JP than those servers but i feel the english comunity is better here.

Probably your server. Ther'es tons of random communication on mysidea. I got a random tell asking about a quest today. My 5 linkshells are super active. And I see shouts all the time in uldah. Tons of pickup parties and even pickup ifrit fights.
