It's "Au Ra," not Au'ra, Aura, Au'Ra, Au-Ra, AuRa, or any other variation thereof. Au Ra.
... and to my knowledge there is no special dialogue for them, though I do expect that to change since 4.0 is taking us to their homelands. Yugiri is not involved with the NIN quest chain.
Got it. Thanks Ms. Au Ra.
Despite my Grammar Nazi tendencies, I'm usually content to let it slip. When a question specifically about the race is asked, though... well, it would be nice if you could use proper grammar. "Au Ra" isn't rocket surgery.
Also, totally a dude IRL. There's no way you could have known that, but presumption is unwise.
As far as I'm aware, the only significant bit of changed dialogue based on race currently is from talking to a guard in the 3.0 Hildibrand quests if you're a Lalafell. He just mentions hearing rumors that they can't be trusted normally, but if you're a Lalafell, he'll talk about how popular Tataru was at the Forgotten Knight before mentioning the rumors, but backpedals and says he doesn't believe any of it (In a very unconvincing manner) when he remembers he's talking to one.
I'd like to hope that the Au Ra in Othard will acknowledge you in some way, though. Extra points if it varies based on what clan you are, because historically, there's supposed to be some tension between the Raen and Xaela.
So Yugiri will still act like haing a mask on is necessary with an Au Ra WoL inches away from her?
I would like that to be honest. It felt super weird when the DK npc was saying we dont know how it feels to be an Au Ra..i'm just sitting there like, "But the horns..the scales..what do you think I am.."
They have never really gotten into racially unique dialog. They might in Stormblood but I wouldn't count on it for sure. I suspect that the Au Ra will treat players as outsiders regardless. After all a Xaela or Raen that has wondered off to be an adventurer has effectively abandoned their tribe or hometown.
No there is sadly no real special dialogue from the NPCs but I hope that this changes with SB. Would be strange to talk to someone of your own race with no reaction from them. Just some small changes in the text can be really nice. Maybe even some comments from your NPC friends.
I very much doubt that Au Ra will get any special dialog. Duskwight Elezen have been dealing with this since 2.0; Gridania is apparently a seething kettle of racial prejudice regarding that subgroup, but a Duskwight Warrior of Light is completely exempt to the point where NPCs will freely discuss the topic around them without a care.
They say that there's only men on the Internet - but I think it's better to say, there is no gender on the Internet. It's my opinion that folks are free to assume any gender for anyone they interact with, and anyone prone to getting uptight about it really should get into the habit of ending every statement with "I'm a dude/chick," to make sure there's no mistake!
