But I can see Intelligence as a main stat for pugilists, when you are modeled after Dudely from Streetfighter. -

PUG using Intelligence made more sense than GLD using Mind, when i first thought of it, i can only guess GLDs mind is for PLD. but with PUGs elemental attacks and defence its not a huge surprise to use intelligence
