I got screwed! (Chocobo)

I sunk over 15k+ MGP into my race chocobo.

Chocobo is Rank 41.

I decide to do Covering.

Wiki says you retire yours to breed.

I buy licence. Opposite gender.

I retire chocobo.

I NOW NO LONGER HAVE A RACING CHOCOBO AT ALL.

I have a covering license, but never was given the option to breed my chocobo by the chocobokeep, before or after retiring.

I can't race. I lost my chocobo, which I put so much MGP into, I can't get a new one.

Thanks for screwing me with completely confusing breeding options, SquEnix!

Is there ANY way to get my race chocobo back, or am I 100% screwed? :mad: I can't even get a new one to start over.

After you retired your chocobo did you get an item called "Retired Chocobo Registration"? If you did not get it, I'd contact GMs/file a ticket for it, to see where and why it got lost.

If you, however have that Registration, you might be looking at the wrong place to do the breeding - which is Central Shroud, not the chocobokeeper at the Gold Saucer.

go to bentbranch, and take your coverings with you, and breed a new chocobo, then after 6hours (earth time) go collect your new bo and go register it in gold saucer

(chocobo keep does not do the breeding)

What might have happened is that you retired the chocobo at Rating 40 instead of Rank 40. Your rank is your regular leveling. Your rating determines which races you can compete in and is often much higher than your rank. If you talk to the feathertrader at Benchbranch Meadows you can get another chocobo registration. It sucks, but you'll have to just start over.

If you did it correctly and did get the retired chocobo registration then take it to the Race chocobo breeder at Benchbrach meadows.

I've been away from chocobo racing for some time, but returned to it about a week ago. I don't know if it's been buffed, was a bug, or rank related (I haven't been keeping up to date with changes), but the covering on my last breeding only took an hour.

It's 30 minutes, I think. I just did one the other day.

it deff could have changed!!! i just breed one this yesterday, didnt pick it up til late at night so maybe they did reduce the time??? either way OP keep us posted

Edit: Square Enix; get rid of the ability to just retire your chocobo for NO REASON. It's a newby trap!
