My company is saving money for housing and it feels useless. There are no available plots currently and many threads on Reddit say good luck on highly populated servers. But one cannot receive if they do not request. So does anybody know the best place to request housing on Leviathan?
I would perhaps post in pf, as i do see some housing available there from time to time.
Otherwise i guess your best bet would be when the new housing is available sometimes after 4.0
Thank you for the advice. I didn't consider, as I've only been playing for a couple months, that new housing was being released with the exp. I looked up a few FFXIV slang sites and couldn't figure out what "pf" was. Can you elaborate please?

PF is party finder. It's a good way to look for a house, though i have to say waiting like Maero suggested is likely going to be your best bet. Either you can get lucky and get a house in the new ward, or a bunch of people and FC's will be transferring their houses to the new area so a bunch of plots in ARR should be opening up. A good tip is to be up early when the new houses go live and have a good idea of the size of house you want and obviously the money to grab it.

A point to note, if you do 'buy' a plot from another player, it's honour-based. I don't think it happens often, but there is nothing to stop them disappearing with your gil when you hand it over and not relinquishing their plot. I believe trading plots is frowned upon by SE (not sure if the ToS expressly forbids it however) so if the worst happened, a GM might not be very sympathetic. Also you'll need to have enough Gil saved to pay the other player their asking price AND to buy the plot itself when they relinquish it. They can't actually trade you a deed to that plot in exchange for your gil
Can you wait until Stormblood? If so there's an entire city opening up & there's likely to be space formed in all wards.
