Dun Scaith and people asking to pass

So I ran the whole day on Dun Scaith on Saturday hoping to finally get the healing body and was met constantly back to back with people asking to pass on gear. Now I was in full 250s at the time with the class that I brought - so I did need them too.

But it kind of gets wearing to pass, and then come in and the next person needs it somehow because they've been at it for years and im sorry that I brought my alternate job SCH when I (main bard). then the next person. next person. (I was like meh, stormblood but I can only take it so many times - besides being out rolled multiple times by higher geared for seals so I finally just kept my roll and was called an ass for it.

What is a polite way to explain that you don't want to pass on gear? Because you've passed multiple other times for it.

Just ignore them, problem solved.

You don't need to explain anything if you need stuff hit need and be done with it. Personally, I'm extremely tired of people wanting to gear a job while playing another.

I was a Main SCH before Heavensward so I wanted to have a job just one to fall back on in case the new skills did not make me feel good about it. I hope you understand. But yeah I get that stance you have.

"No, sorry, I need/want this too - we can both roll on it and see who gets it, okay?"

If thats not okay for someone... their problem

Using greed and leave it to your luck it's ok too, but if I were in your shoes I will gear SCH enough to run Dun Scaith as a healer. Then you can roll need and also the option to speak with the other healer to split gear in case you need X and him Y (gear from this dungeon can't be sold, turn for seals or desyn) is there.

if you can push need, do it if you want it. if you can push greed do it if you want it. i usually pass on tank and healer gear unless I'm playing one which is very rare. but dps is fair game. though i tend to pass on under 60 gear. anything else like pets and mounts pray to rngesus, I'm not going to pass unless i have it.

Unless it's something I was just going to hand in for seals anyway (which doesn't even apply to Dun Scaith gear I think, at least as of this writing) I don't even pay these people any heed at all. They can roll for it like everyone else.

If you want a better chance at a loot, bring the appropriate job so you can Need, or bring in a premade party of friends/FC that will actually agree to let you have a piece. Begging for loot from randos just makes you look like... well, a beggar.

If you need it as well I don't see the problem. Rather selfish of the other person if they think simply asking grants them rights to everything. Some twisted logic that not giving in to him, makes you the jerk instead. lol

Ignore them. It's one thing to ask if they can have it, it's another to get mad when no one conforms to them.
