Is it just me or are people overreacting to WHM too soon?

I'm seeing #RipWHM thread here, and Petition for WHM change thread there, but very very few people have even play the 4.0 job yet. Let's face it the Devs aren't going to change anything about the Job until early access happens. Yes, Whm is losing a good chuck of it's core feature, and yes the Lily mechanic looks bad, but these are the Devs we're talking about. The devs have been working on the expansion for months before we even got an announcement about it. So more than likely the Devs know something we don't, and if the Lily mechanic doesn't work as intended, then more than likely they'll change it to make it work. I say before everyone makes a final conclusion on the job before the release. Let's play Whm 4.0 first, so that the Devs can get a better overall look at the job, and analysis what works and what doesn't, so that they can make the proper changes.

They largely are. Outside of raids the job will be good. The job needed raid utility abilities, yet all I see are lily mechanic complaints. Apparently there is a sizable group of healers which don't use single target heals.

people overreact over everything so it's best to just ignore those threads.

It's too soon to say that WHM is definitively dead, certainly, but I don't think it's too soon to be concerned about the direction it appears to be moving in. I don't think it's about whether the Lily mechanic will "work" or not, but that fundamentally, in terms of design, it's not really what WHM wanted or needed in order to bring it into the fold with the other two healers.

but there's nothing that they could change about what we know that would make any difference. Unless you're saying there's a whole spell or trait that was left off of the press material accidentally. In which case I'd appreciate it if they'd let us know that before June 20th.

But I doubt that's the case. Since I can read and understand the tooltips I'm going to give my feedback regarding that information now, while it could still change. And if/when there are no changes and I get in game and can also play with the new skills, I will then also give my feedback regarding my experience with those new skills. It will be the same feedback.

It's kind of absurd almost how little faith people have in the devs. Like they seem to think they just arbitrarily do this and that to a job, and don't actually use and experiment with it themselves in-game when developing those changes.

Their track record on a lot of things doesn't instill much faith. A lot of times it seems they have no clue what they're doing and don't even understand how their own game works.

People are just much more inclined to hop on to hate trains for the smallest of reasons and most of them have no idea what they're talking about. They just parrot what they hear from somewhere else

Is it just me or did we not need another thread? You can go post that you think people are overreacting in one of the threads that already exists.

Exactly... WHM needed raid utility abilities. If you read through the multiple threads, the majority are complaining about the lily mechanic and cross class abilities. I agree the job needs some adjustment, however people are blowing the changes out of proportion. The savage raiding community in this game is relatively small, yet our community applies raid preferences to all other content which gets very annoying and is short sighted.
