Good afternoon:
I want to leave Gilgamesh to avoid the long login ques during the launch of Stormblood. I am a casual player. I want to find a server with a good population and active community. I want to stick with my current data center. I hear good things about Cactuar but I was wondering if anyone could give me a little bit more detail about the server population. Thanks.
Of the 4 servers I joined (Cactuar, Siren, Gilgamesh and Goblin), I've found Cactuar to be the friendliest overall. It's a mid-sized population, but I've had the occasional queue time to get in during peak login times (never very long, thank goodness haha, but it is quite active). When I joined it a year ago it had the reputation as The Gathering/Crafting server, So stuff can be expensive, but it also means the economy is active and it's pretty easy to make gil. Raiding community is fairly small (mostly casual), but there are a few serious groups, and it's been growing slowly. RP is also another growing part (lots of Balmung transfers the last 3 or 4 months), but I've rarely seen it outside of FCs specifically catering to RP. The hunt community is a mixed bag: You've got one or two groups with the awful habit of griefing and pulling early (there's always that 1 A-hole, right?), but probably 80 percent of them prefer to work cooperatively (5 minute wait to pull is the standard).

been to a few realms myself and cactuar by far been the best one come to with being friendly and a lot of helpful people in the PF on some things not all like potd but still pretty good and people met through things like mount farming are all cool and helpful unlike some who get theirs and split they stick around to help
