Suggestion for new use for crafting guild marks

I think XIV could take a page out of XIs book in this case again and devs could design furniture that could be purchasable with the guild marks and placed in our residence when those get released.

I figured couple adjustments could be made where you would not be able to synth something that needs guild support at all unless you have that support. Therefore, a furniture could be created that would grant you that support for free while in a residence.
Example:
Furniture piece #1- requires lvl 25 crafter - grants common support
Furniture piece #2 -requires lvl 40 crafter - grants advanced support
Furniture piece #3- requires lvl 50 crafter - grants master support

In XI the furniture piece just sat there but it would be great in XIV if the piece was actually interactive. By that I mean the furniture piece would be some sort of advanced work station that crafter could use. Piece #1 for gold could be a table with a chair, #2 could be a fancier table, #3 could have a light and some fancy device to look through while crafting.

I think changes like that would provide crafters with more content and variety and give us something to strive for.

Sounds like a great idea +1.

Crafting definitly needs more variety, the long grind becomes hard for people like me who don't watch netflix on the side lol. Usually short term goal helps ease the pain of grinding. lol

I love this idea, I just have some things to add if they do choose to implement this. These are things that I did NOT like about the XI system.

1. Do not make it a hidden effect. I understand that some hidden effects are cool to have, but for something like this, it's rather unnecessary.
2. Do not make the player jump through hoops in order to get the benefit. Remember how moghancements worked in XI? (Probably not, because a lot of people didn't...) Don't do that. I don't want to have to buy a whole bunch of other furniture of the same element with less elemental strength than the guild furniture just to get the best enhancement.

My third suggestion is actually something XI did right, and I'd like to see in XIV.

3. Make some other way to get guild marks (guild tasks come to mind...) because once you're 50, doing more repetitive locals for a chance at guild marks is not something that anyone wants to do. Locals aren't so bad if your 40~50s that give guild marks are in town, but... well I'm looking at YOU Alchemy (Broken Water + Bluefog).

I dunno, but I thought that using guildmarks to purchase abilities was actually a pretty decent way of doing things. I would have liked them to just expand upon it further by:

- increasing the ways in which one could obtain guildmarks
- adapting some of the better features from FF11's merit point system to the guildmark system
- increasing the amount of abilities, traits, and skills one could purchase
- adding unique guild-related items that one could purchase

Exactly, you just pointed out the things about XI items I hated the most. Benefits should be visible and easily manageable.

D of Land could buy Treasure Maps with their Guild Marks (and find rare Special Items).

D of Hand could purchase Special Recipes for making the Magic Furniture, Trophies, Plants, Flowers, etc (Home Furnishings)

D of War & Magic could purchase Special Items that are used in the Magic Furniture Recipes.




I would like them to keep the Guild Marks active in the game.
