The acronym

What does it mean in the context of this game? Or at all? Well, the game never tells you. I find it problematic and a little irritating that MMO lingo is printed on the user interface as if you're expecting me to already be familiarized with your nerdy clique and it's language upon starting the game. It is especially unwelcoming of newcomers to the genre.

Happens to me all the time. When you see a Acronym you don't know. This may seem like a stretch, but just ask what it means. Most zones you'll get one person who answers at least.

Go outside or something.

Doesn't the Hall of the Novice have a book or NPC regarding mmo terminology?

You can also Google "what does [acronym] mean in FFXIV?" and usually you'll be able to find an answer. If not, asking here or on Reddit will usually get you an answer.

Specialized acronyms and terminology happen everywhere. It can be a little hard to keep track sometimes, but that's why there's Google.
