about your anima weapons

hello hello there people since ff14 will bee down for a little i like to ask a few questions
so yesterday i was farming some light before maintenance so i made a pf and im a drk so i was tanking a few runs in another drk joined and we went in on a1s so this drk started talking about why Skill Speed on your anima was bad that it just doesn't work and bla bla bla. after all the talking was when i told him that its my anima is what i want to put on it so my question is, is it bad to have crit/skill speed on drk anima i mean it could cause tp problems but i dont see that happening now or later i manage my pc smartly so my just asking is it bad or good or decent because im tired of ppl who play drk telling how to make my anima it is my weapon so why judge someone else? i seen people with parry accuracy so let me know what you guys think!:confused:

Well it's not that Skill Speed won't do what you expect it to do or anything, but crit and det are much more potent in your overall long run damage output.
On DRK specifically you might even have an argument for parry lol

Skill Speed isn't going to do much for you on DRK.

yes i've been told that but it is my anima i dont mind skill speed it may be useless some people say but givin the persom garbage over it isnt right and its in like in every light farm i do and kinda get tired of it the other thing is im not a raider im pretty casual the only thing i ever done is a10s and zurvan ex other than that i stat away from raiding

Your question is irrelevant since you have answered it already yourself. There's no reason to come and ask us, since it's your anima and you are doing what you want with it. Pretty sure someone else pointed out that there's a reason for putting specific points into your anima, we don't need to rehash that.

It's bad, but it doesn't matter because you're going to put whatever you want on it and obviously ignore people's opinions because it's yours.

You already know that it's bad, though. Straight up, objectively, factually bad. If you want it on your weapon, power to you. Just don't try and argue that it's good.

There is just an optimal way, you do you for sure but it's a less effective path. However, since stats don't have anything to do with playstyle and only performance, not like just doing daily content instead of AS1 to farm light, there is no point behind picking anything but the most optimal choice.

Its like asking what you should do, then doing the opposite cus "its my call". Then why bother asking if its right or wrong? You have stated you will treat the anima the way you want but then you try to justify it when someone says "its wrong". :S

Maybe no one has properly explained why it's a bad thing?

DRK can benefit from Skill Speed, but only if you can get above the threshold to get at least 8, maybe even 9 GCD inside Blood Weapon. Generally, because you'll encounter issues with clipping, server lag, etc., you might not be able to consistently do that, even with a very high amount of Skill Speed. Not to mention if you're actually tanking and need to do anything resembling a mechanic. This is an old thread, but it can give you a little more background on the numbers behind DRK stats. Ultimately, because you will not be able to get maximum benefits out of Skill Speed unless you overload on the stat and play extremely well, the value of Skill Speed is lower in comparison to the value of other secondary stats, namely CRIT and DET.

A good habit to get into when attempting to meld or add custom stats to anything is to research the up-to-date stat weights for your class. Some stats "weigh" more (that is, provide more net benefit) than others, and you'll typically want to aim for the stats that weigh the highest for your given class at any given time.

I hope that makes sense! You're still free to do anything you like with your own weapon, but there is a reason people are commenting on it to you.
