I have played FFXIV with a headset on for ages and just now started having issues. I get a loud screaching/static sound while playing and the game crashes giving me this error.

It has been one of the few games that I need to literally plug my headset into BEFORE loading into the game otherwise sound won't work through headset. Does anyone have this issue or know of why this would all of a sudden be crashing my game?
