Gardening Oddity Using Fertilizer

I've been testing some things out recently with Fertilizer (Fishmeal specifically) and something doesn't seem quite right.

Two days ago (Tue, May 9 @ 1PM) I planted a Doman Plum, Mamook Pear & Xelphatol Apple. I left one unfertilized, used x1 Fishmeal on the second and x2 Fishmeal on the third.

All three were ready for harvest at the exact same time today (Thu, May 11 @ 1PM). Why didn't the Fishmeal reduce the grow time? Something doesn't seem right.

Been getting odd results with other plants as well. Anybody else run into an issue like this?

I'm also testing some Althyk Lavender with one not being fertilized at all and fertilizing the other one 3 times already. Both of them grew to the second growth stage at the exact same time as well. It's as if the Fishmeal had no effect whatsoever.

Edit: Further testing shows Fertilizer does in fact work on the elemental seeds. Also seems that fertilizing Althyk Lavender and Voidrake seems to have a much shorter reduction in growth (around 10 minutes per feed).

I was actually going to test some of that out awhile ago when I noticed the short growth time stuff didn't appear to be affected by it, but never got around to it. Perhaps the newer seeds that have a shorter growth timer were never set to be affected by it?

I guess I never really thought about that as I hadn't really noticed if this was an issue before. Perhaps anything with a 2 day grow time or less isn't affected by Fishmeal. Though I do seem to remember a few times where I've used Fishmeal on said plants and they've grown to the next growth stage and/or were ready to be harvested. But perhaps I'm wrong!

You got me curious so I snagged some althyk lavender seeds. One I've left alone and two I've been feeding. I've fed two of the three plants five times each now and both of the fed plants have progressed while the first seed is still in the initial planted phase, so the fishmeal is having an effect. I'm going to feed them once more before tomorrow and then keep an eye on them to see when they pop to get an estimate as to how much time the fishmeal is taking off.

Edit: About an hour later the plant I have not been feeding has caught up, so it appears the fishmeal is taking off maybe 10 minutes or so from it.

What grade and type of soil did you use? I only used G1 Thanalan. This still doesn't explain why my first test with Doman Plum, Mamook Pear and Xelphatol Apple were all ready at the exact same time even though I fertilized 2/3 of them.

Just used potting soil.

I have noticed occasionally that a group of plants will be ready for harvest but one will lag. Usually one shot of fishmeal will bring it up to speed.

This makes me believe that our plantings are not tracked in minuets, but hours. So if I plant 4 seeds at an hour break, and one is planted in the new hour, Its going to ripen an hour later than the first three.

I am not planting one or two day seeds. I have had happen most often on 5 or 6 day seeds, probably because that's what most seeds are, but I have had this happen with Krakka Roots, 3 days.

I was looking away for a few minutes and the fed plants popped at/around 10:31am (planted at 12:36pm yesterday and fed 6 times). Will see when the unfed plant pops.

Edit: 11:26 the unfed plant popped. Either I wrote down the wrong time yesterday or it's a 22hr 50m grow time. If it was at the 26m mark yesterday then it was probably around the 10:26 mark that the fed plants popped and that would mean about a 10 minute reduction an althyk lavendar grow time using fertilizer. It also means it doesn't round it to the hour/half hour mark.

Waiting on another set to pop. Started at 11:50 am yesterday and did a whole crop, but fertilized one once, one twice and one thrice. According to yesterday's data that should have made one of them pop at 10:20, one at 10:30 and one at 10:40. Unfortunately when I logged in at about 9:40 the plants I had fertilized twice and thrice had both already become harvestable. At this point I don't know what to think. Either the the plant fertilization is buggy or it's yet another system in the game hooked up by rng.

edit: Got distracted by my pups for a bit and missed the 1 fertilizer pop, but everything appeared to harvestable by 10:40 so at the very least we know the grow time for Althyk Lavender is 22hr 50m. I should note I don't even bother using fertilizer normally as it just doesn't take enough time off in my opinion, unless you're doing it ritually every hour until the plant pops (we all love watching clocks right?). Seeing the randomness of it while testing makes it even less worth it.

I'm the same way. I don't fertilize anymore either. A fellow gardener brought up some inconsistencies so I decided to give another look. Just wish SE would provide at least some info on all of this. But it will never happen!
