Question about Foe's
Ok so I like to consider myself a caster main (blm/smn). I love foe's but I just started playing my BRD outside of PotD and I have a question about it. I know when to use it but how long do you usually keep it up for? Like do you just keep it up until you run out of MP or do you end it after a certain point.
Sorry if this is a silly question. I've never really paid much attention to how long BRD's actually keep it up lol.

It really helps to know what's coming up to get the full value of your Foe. I pop it at the beginning of evey trash pack and end it when the majority of the mobs are below 25%. If I know a boss fight is coming up, i'll do maybe the first 30% of the trash packs HP. Or if the pack isnt too big, ill skip it all together. You always want 100% Mp going into a boss fight unless you have no casters and your healer isnt DPSing. I. Which case, you really dont need it at all. Perhaps do the Nin a solid for his elemental ninjitsu if you have one.

Thank you! Yeah if I get grouped with a NIN or DRK I'll use it and of course with casters. I'll check to see if the healer is even dpsing if it's an all physical damage group before using it as well. But for boss fights do you just keep it up until you run out of MP or until battle voice is over?

On bosses you let it run out of mp :)

One piece of advice specific to 24-man's or even 8-man's, but I usually play foes until I've got about 1000 mp left and then I turn it off. I try to gauge the group but sometimes that extra MP is really helpful if you need to play army's or mages for a fallen ally. In dun scaith and weeping city especially there's always someone dying, so it's helpful to be prepared. Just my 2 cents, and I'll second the advice given above, all great!

If there is multiple Bards in a group you can usually let it run out of mp but you should gauge how the other Bards are playing.
Sometimes i turn it off before i run out because i prepare in case healers need mp and more often then not it is the case that they do and other Bards do not bother to sing Ballad.

Me personally, for large trash pulls (I'm talking fairly large, as trash pulls of 3-5 mobs die quickly if DPS is good), I usually let my Foe's go until I'm at half MP, or if things just melt, until the last mob dies. I only Foe's for large trash pulls just to help them melt faster; I don't see much point in using it for trash if the tank insists on pulling less than 5 mobs at a time. That's my opinion on Foe's during trash.
For bosses, I Battle Voice my Foe's, and then let it run until I'm out of MP. In fights that last longer (raid bosses), I usually toggle my Foe's back on once I hit full MP again, barring that I didn't use my MP on Army's or Mage's due to deaths or multiple raises. My full Foe's lasts 70 seconds. Usually my third Foe's I can Battle Voice again, unless I have to BV Army's or Mage's in dire situations. Those are rare, however.
If I am running with other bards, I prefer to Foe's first, just because it fits in nicely with my pre-pull. And I usually ask in chat if it's alright to Foe's first (or I just say I'm going to if I'm feeling too stubborn to budge on playing first). Of course, some times other bards don't pay attention, so if I see my Foe's being canceled out by another, I (begrudgingly) turn it off, and then silently curse the other bard for making me waste my BV.

unless they "fix'd" it be warned Foe Requiem arrggo's unpulled mobs within a certian range of you, not very strongly but enouf (enouf that 1 flash from PLD can take it or stop it from happening)
