New colors and old gear

Can someone explain to me how the new color system is going to work versus our old gear?

Cause If I find that after the patch my inventory will contain fingerless raptorskin gloves white instead of fingerless raptorskin gloves of slaying I will be very pissed with the people that cried about colors and bs...

I payed nearly 400-600k gil to materia those gloves because they had better stats, don't tell me that I have to buy them and materia them again!
(That is going to translate to millions of gil loss if I add all my materiad gar in all of my classes).

At least ask from the devs for a way to take out the materia and lose the gear instead the materia.

SE will probably just leave existing gear rather than changing it.

Its not enix's fault if this happens, I blame forum crybabies!

probadly same stats and all, but the different is the old gear wont be able to change color like the new, that is my guess

Current gear will stay as they are now.Your "fingerless raptorskin gloves (white)" will just be renamed to "fingerless raptorskin gloves of slaying (white)"

But you won't be able to change your gloves' color for now because it's dyed already. If you happen to, let's say, want one dyed red then you will need to:

1- Make a fingerless raptorskin gloves.
2- Upgrade it to fingerless raptorskin gloves of slaying (new recipe).
3- dye it.

There's a dev quote somewhere (I can't be bothered to search it) that says that old gear will stay. The new gear will replace these old ones in recipes, but those that have been synthesized already will be kept nice and snug in your inventory.

I encourage you to search it somewhere.

Was confirmed by Rukkirii a while back, don't feel like looking for the post though.

Its ok if they change the gear name and cant be dyed, I can certainly live with that.
