Rage of Halone, OP much?
hey guys, posting a thread here to see what other people think. been testing a theory revolving around Firm Conviction, if it holds true then Rage of Halone is our best WS in game. I'm trying to look at this from a pure defensive position, as Riot Blade (which i also have out) is more offensive/threat.
The theory is very simple, any time I don't have a buff to do, rampart, sentinel, shield buff, I am trying to find ways to cast to take advantage of Firm Conviction. Test runs on ifrit indicated casting more helped with the damage i take, the only down side was MP. now to the point, Rage of Halone still activates the cast bar, thus it is still a cast yes? it takes 0 mp so its a free cast which can keep Firm Conviction active almost indefinitely, with enough TP gen.
I'm wanting some thoughts or posts of others tests. I also don't mind ideas to further increase my defensive capabilities. What do you guys do?

Play marauder and lancer. Current content does not need a tank.
I doubt GLA will have access to a firm conviction trait after 1.20, but if it does, care about it then. That's also assuming that Rage of Halone will still be a cast, it seems like the animation will be put on a fivefold low accuracy weapon skill, something similar to Vorpal Blade, and not have the cast/HP difference bonus.
With merited VIT, a fixed blocking system and HQ shield, and HQ gear defense and defense traits from 1.20, I doubt you'll care about this effect anyway. Nothing hits hard enough to care already.

I did some testing earlier today helping a friend camp Kokoroon Quickfingers. Using DD armor from my lancer I was taking roughly 200 damage a hit, when casting Rage of Halone it dropped roughly by roughly 1/4 per hit for around 150.
It also seems fastcast affects the speed of which Rage of Halone casts, but truthfully I didn't really pay that much attention it just seemed to cast faster since I got fast cast last week.
Of course I don't know if any of this will be relevant with the upcoming patch next week.
