Do you think will get 5 new skills in sb if so will we eventally have to many?

So I am super excited about the benchmark and I loved what I saw with the new skills. So the thing is , is that I'm sure those useless skills that may be cut in the system revamp many people have already taken them off their hot bars anyway. And some jobs use almost all of their skills especially the roles I play tanks and healers use just about everything.

Will there come a time where maybe we cant get new skills anymore as the game continues to grow or will people be ok with 35 to 40 skills? Also the fact that many players at least the ones in the duty finder dont even read tool tips are know about the current ones thats in game now. I cant tell you how many times Ive had to tell healers about their regen regeneration. The number of drks Ive seen using living dead with full health or 75 percent clearly they didnt read the tool tips.

What can they do about this problem to encourage people to read the current ones that already exist. I mean rotations are a different thing sometimes its not always easy to know when to place this skill or that one. But to not even take the time to sit and read your skills is something thats a problem and should be addressed and maybe reemphasized. So if we get five this time around, can they really add more in say 5.0 would people really want more. If they had to at some point stop giving skills what could they replace it with to make things just as exciting?

The amount of skills at 70 will be the same as at 60 pre Stormblood. Some 1-60 skills get merged or removed.

My SCH has 39 keybinds at the moment and it's fine. I wouldn't want much more than that though, but Yoshida seems aware of the skillbloat problem and as you say Stormblood will take steps to mitigate it to an as yet unknown extent.

What they should do about people not bothering to learn their skills is to always show the skill description on-screen along with the "action learned" message, and to force people to use them properly in their next class/job quest. The way things are now, the job quests are often completely unrelated to actually learning your job and randomly give you a new skill at the end of the quest, which is stupid and counterintuitive.

They should add intermediate and advanced halls of the novice that are more punishing than the hall of the novice.

Where certain things needs to be used and failure tells you what you were supposed to do.

They could also make them requirements to do level 60 and 70 content as well. If you cannot pass the hall, you don't get into later content.

I really agree with that , I mean its just far to many tanks not using cool downs and healers not using regen heals or regaining their mp etc. I have to say while I dont know how rotations are for dps I see in df but I do see them for the most part using all their Tools. I rarely see bards not using wm, or blms that arent using fire 4, monks always have on their stances etc I do sometimes see dragoons not using botd but thats still rarer than the tanks not using cds, and healer issues.


I totally wouldn't mind I guess combos being merged or something of the sort like that if they are gona do something like that I just wonder how the top skilled players that hardcore raid etc will take things gettin a bit simpler. I still dont know what they can do for healers and tanks tho what could they really merge outside of combos on tanks , and as I play scholar to they pretty much use every skill they have.

The only thing i worry about is my poor Nin, currently using about 3 full hot bars. i really don't want to have to add more! hopefully with the changes they are do they'll remove some and with the new skills it'll be able the same amount of buttons. as a nin i'd be happy with less skills and getting an extra hand gesture as they would open up so many new ninjutsu's

Im so interested in seeing how they handle this especially for ps4 or controller users cause I mean we where told about gettin extra inv space and 40 slots is far less than I expected. I keep thinking that the only solution is gona just be to simply merge combos which I wonder how many people are gona like that exactly I personally wouldnt mind but Im assuming some others would.

They already said the amount of skills we will have in stormblood will be the same amount of skills we have now.

so we are getting 5 new skills, but the other skills are getting modified.

Oh Im very aware of that but Im still just kinda lost on how they could do this with heals and tanks. Like for instance there is literally nothing you could remove from dark knight they use every single one of their skills same with warrior. Scholar uses everything as well, whm maybe doesnt use one or two skills but I still use everything, and with pali I pretty much use every thing maybe not shield bash.

Something like dragoon or something would be easier you can merge those combos , blm can merge their skills but alot of others literally use everything. They just kinda let me down with the inv thing so I hope that this doesnt turn out to be as underwhelming.

I'm curious about the change too. What about the actions you get from quests? They will have to change some quests too if they remove or alter some skills.
